Today in #WomenInMyCircle series we have a very talented artist with us, let me introduce you all to my superbly talented friend Vaishali Sengupta. A trained psychologist, a mother of two and a pro artist, have a look at her paintings and then you will know what I am talking about.
paintingHere is a small e-interview with her and it will help you to know more about this talented woman:

How would you describe  yourself to my audience:

I am Vaishali Sengupta, a mother of two & happily married to an Army Officer for almost 9 years now.

From a trained psychologist to an artist, how did you start this journey?

The magical world of colors has fascinated me ever since I was a child. My parents & teachers tell me that I had started showing a keen interest in arts & crafts, especially in painting from a very tender age. I love it as it brings me peace and joy and I mostly played with colors for myself but never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I would be pursuing it so seriously! It all started a couple of years back when I was given an opportunity to conduct painting workshops for the ladies of the station where we were posted at that time. That was my first significant public exposure as an artist & painter. It taught me a lot of things & gave me an immense boost of confidence to make my work available to a larger audience.

What made you start this? What was the turning point?

While I really enjoy my life as an Army wife, because of the great travel opportunities it provides. One of the downsides is that I have never been able to pursue a career. Though I am a trained psychologist, because of our nomadic lifestyle, I could not settle down in a job as a psychologist. Now I have two Small children & pursuing a career that gives me a great work life balance & flexibility is most important for me. Pursuing art has given me that advantage. I am my own boss, doing something I love.

Apart from this, what else are you working on these days?

Apart from painting, I love baking. As I said earlier, It’s never too late to introduce something new in your life. Baking is my new found passion.

How have you priced your art pieces/services, in case someone is interested in buying (mention price)?

So far my Art was a strictly personal pursuit. However, someone once told me that joyful things are to be shared! If anyone is seriously interested in purchasing, please contact me at (vaishali.sengupta@gmail.com) & we can discuss one to one about what kind of art they want, size, the theme & eventually the pricing. However, I sincerely hope that buyers will keep in mind that I am a mother of two naughty little kids! To produce quality work, I will need quality time.

How can we reach out to you to place orders?

Mail me at vaishali.sengupta@gmail.com

A piece of advice you would like to give to other.

God has given some kind of talent to each one of us. We just need to realize it. And there is nothing like ” it’s too late”. It’s never too late to start a new venture or to learn something new. Hold on to your dreams & be true to yourself, rest everything will fall in its place.

My recent obsession with water colors is all because of her and I am so thankful to her  for introducing me to this great stressbuster.

We will be back with another inspiring lady who is one amongst us, if you want to nominate someone then please check my #WomenInMyCircle post.
