With the change in weather, it is the right time to change their lotion too, time to start applying lotion which provides moisture for long hours and makes the baby’s skin soft and supple. Basis my personal experience I am listing down 5 best moisturizers or lotions for babies which you can apply in winters or treat dryness.

1. Aveeno Baby Daily Moisturising Lotion for Delicate Skin

This is the best lotion that you must have if your baby’s skin feel dry. I switched to this product from Chicco when my baby was 3 months old. Aveeno does help in making skin soft and smooth, there was no dryness. Its main ingredient is oats and it helps in washing off the dead skin and dirt, and it soothes the dry and itching skin.

2. Cetaphil Baby Daily lotion

This contains natural ingredients and mainly shea butter which provides extra moisture. It has a mild fragrance that won’t bother the baby and it is free from parabens, SLS, synthetic colors. It is mild and gentle on the skin. a very good lotion for everyday use which you can use throughout the year.

3. Sebamed Baby Protective Facial Cream

This so so good for extra sensitive skin. Most of the hospitals recommend Sebamed products. This facial cream has hyaluronic acid and squalene, and Vitamin E that helps in soothing the baby’s skin.

Additionally, it contains pentanol (vitamin B5) that helps eliminate skin infections or conditions like eczema. Even the traces of allantoin moisturises the skin, leaving it supple and smooth. little costly on the pocket like Aveeno but works wonders.

The lotion is not runny, making it easy to apply. It blends with the skin without leaving any residue or feeling heavy or greasy on the skin.

Himalaya Baby Cream

This is on the affordable side and works best for most babies. The main ingredients of this lotion are country mallow (Bala), licorice (yashtimadhu) and olive (jaitun). Country mallow is rich in antioxidants. Moreover, this helps in treating skin conditions like rashes, swelling, and even ulcers. Licorice is a soothing herb that reduces swelling and redness on the skin.

The goodness of olive oil helps in calming any inflammation on the skin. As it is loaded with antioxidants and Vitamin E and K, you need not worry about any side effects.

Consistency is good, it glides on the baby’s skin and leaves no residue behind.. ./

When to use baby lotion?

The best time to use baby lotion on your infant is right after bath time to help lock in moisture and support the skin barrier. Doing so at the same time each day also helps enforce consistency and creates a nice soothing element to your baby’s bedtime routine.

My take:

If your baby’s skin is extra dry and sensitive then I would recommend going for Aveeno or Sebamed, if it is normally dry which happens in winter then go for Cetaphil. Himalaya is affordable and works best for normal skin.
