Lansdowne is a small cantonment town in Pauri Garhwal district. It is approximately 280 kms from Delhi. Nearest railway station is Kotdwar. Lansdowne is 40 kms from Kotdwar on Pauri Road. This place is an ideal travel destination for a lazy weekend holiday. It is one of the most popular weekend getaway from Delhi NCR region.
It was my first time that I have visited Lansdowne and believe me I was more than happy to be there. We took a friend’s car and drove down from Delhi – Meerut – Bijnor – Kotdwar – Lansdowne.
We stayed at Sunset Villa Lansdowne and hospitality provided to us made our stay comfortable. Here are the pictures:
Weather was cold in the morning and night but it was pretty hot in the daytime, it didn’t let us miss Delhi 😉 . As it’s a hill station so you don’t have many places to explore but it does have certain places which you don’t mind checking out. If you are looking for less crowded, serene natural beauty then it is the place for you otherwise you can go ahead and roam around regular hill stations.
Places to see in Lansdowne:
- Bhulla Taal: This lake is a perfect picnic spot for children & families. We did boating in lake and had breakfast at Cafe shop. There’s a small bridge over lake which is perfect for photo shoot. I liked this place.
